Background 1; creepy ghost-town setting, dark red sunset, a single crooked street lamp flickering weakly.

Enter; two young men. Walking along the street, commenting about how it was creepy and people were right, it was probably haunted.

They stop walking by a sagging, boarded up old building, with a faded sign 'Live Action Theater' over the door

Guy 1; "I'll bet THIS place is TOTALLY haunted."
Guy 2; "Definitely. Man, this whole part of town is just so creepy!"
Guy 1; "I dare you to go in and look around."
Guy 2; "No way, man! YOU go in!"
Guy 1; "Okay, fine. Will you go in if I go in?"

They push open the door. It breaks off as they do so, falls to the ground in a cloud of dust.

Background 2; Inside the theater, very very dark, full of old crates and boxes, broken chairs and stage props scattered about.

A faint sound is echoing through the building, like "ee ee ee ee ee..." This sound continues through the animation
A whisper, barely audible, sounds "Smi.....ler..." in a soft, singsong voice.

Guy 2; "Do you hear that noise?"
Guy 1; "Erm... I think it's a creaky window or something. Building is settling."
Guy 2; "It's creepy!!"

They continue to explore the old theater, looking at old costumes and props in the crates.
They both wander over to some crates behind the stage. They look behind a particular one and they scream and jump back.

Lying propped up behind a crate is a life-sized wooden marionette, wearing purple and yellow, and a matching mask. It has round, blue eyes thats pupils were painted far too small, and an enormous grin that took up most of its unmasked face.

The 2 guys stare at it, terrified for a moment.

Guy 1; (Relaxes) "Hey, wait. I KNOW this."
Guys 2; "What?!"
Guys one; (Walks over to the doll) "No, listen! Somebody told me about how one time there was this live action theater that did a life-sized puppet show once, years ago! This must be one of the puppets, that got left behind."
Guy two; "That's CREEPY! Why would someone do a life-sized puppet show?!"
Guy one; (Teasing) "What? Are you SCARED of it? It's just a doll!" He bends over and picks up the puppet by its shoulders, so its arms are sticking out in front of it. Its broken strings dangle. "Ooooh, noo!" Guy One teases, waving the puppets arms in front of his friends face. "It's haaauuntedd!!"

Guy two; "Ha ha. Seriously, dude, put it down."
Guy One; (holds out the doll so its hands are almost touching his friends face) "OoooOOooOo!" He makes ghost noises.

The doll's arm jerked suddenly, smacking Guy Two in the face. Both guys yell in surprise. Guy One drops the puppet and it clatters to the ground and they both jump back, staring at it.

The moment its arm had jerked, a screechy, hysterical laugh began emanating from the doll, the sound reverberating off the walls.

The guys stare at in in horror as its fingers twitch, its arm jerks, it blinks. Then it rises, lifting itself off the ground into a standing position. The laughing doesn't stop. The two guys are too terrified to run.

"Smi....ler..." calls the soft singsong voice, mixing with the other sounds of the building.
"ee ee ee ee eee ee ee ee~"
"AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~!"

Slowly, the puppets head turned until its painted blue eyes rest exactly on the two guys, its enormous grin so wide it seemed it would crack its face. The laughter stops, but the giggle, "ee ee ee ee" continues, more prominent than before.

With clanking wood, the puppet raised its arm towards the guys with a little wave.

"Hi," The Smiler says, her voice is high and hoarse.

Background 1 again- darken the sunset, more stars out.

The two guys run screaming out of the theater and down the street.

It shows Smiler standing in the doorway, her blue eyes glowing out of the dark. She's not looking at the two guys.
"ee ee ee ee ee ee ee ee..."
"Smi...ler...."
No, the two guys are NOT pie.

So, this is what I'm practicing animations for. This is my goal, this is where I'm going. I've been planning on making this animation for a while, but, first I need a paint program with layers so I can have background and more easily move the characters. Also, I need to work on my sunsets.

I'm gonna do a few more VT animations so I can get the hang of it before I do Smiler animations, but this will go on YouTube!!

...someday...
So, anyway, this is mo of Smilers backstory! She was carved for a life-sized puppet show. She sometimes likes to go back to the old theater, kind of like an instinct. Unfortunately, if she's there for too long without seeing a person, she forgets how to move until one wanders in, then she sees them moving and remembers how.

+also, Anne said I shouldn't have her say 'Smiler'. Does anybody agree? I had her say that because she DOES talk to herself and giggle a lot when she's alone. Of course she's repeating her name! If she forgets how to move after not seeing a human for a month, how will she remember her name if she doesn't repeat it to herself? My mom says I should change it so she just says 'Smile' without the 'r'. Anyone agree?
